This is a CASE of Kristina's card in our last class. She used glitter on her snowflakes, and since I live in a glitter-free environment, I left them as is.

There were lots of great ideas in todays online card class. I decided to give the faux metal technique another try. I'd done this before, but never with ink on the stamp when it went into the embossing powder.

The sentiment doesn't show well in the pictures. Sorry. Taking pictures at night is always a challenge.

Day eight of class? Cards using dies.

I used 3 of the thin embossing folders to put the designs on the ornaments. Since the folders left a line on the ornaments at the edge of the folder, I used a stylus and scoring board to add more lines above and below the designs. Nice way to hide the imperfections of this technique.

Day seven of class showed us how to use reverse stamps on cards. Reverse stamps? These are stamps with backgrounds that get the ink rather than the focal image getting the ink.

I stamped, distressed, embossed, and layered.

Goodness. So many great ideas in class today. I chose to use Lisa Spangler's idea for my card. I made a few adjustments to suit my clean and simple style.

I used a background stamp for the colored banners. I have lots of pieces left over for more cards. Love that!

I love a good online card class, and this looks like it's going to be another winner. I wonder if I'll be able to focus on "winter" cards for Operation Write Home rather than Christmas cards. That deadline is Wednesday! We'll see. I do hope I get an idea for my own Christmas cards.
