I didn't realize how hard a monochromatic card would prove to be. I wanted to add another color, but I restrained myself.

Layering the print die onto 2 layers of the same die cut from card stock and adding Glossy Accents makes the flower pop on the card. To lift the top of the flower a bit more, I used "Power Tabs" from Tombow. They're clear! I use these tabs when the white of regular pop dots is easy to see.

S&S Midweek Throwdown: Use Ribbon

This week's directive for the OWH Stars & Stamps Blog is to use ribbon. 

I've been using these cards to write a quick note to the contacts of the OWH boxes of cards. Believe me, I've made a lot of turkeys in the past few weeks! I have to give all the credit to Kristina Werner at KWernerDesignBlog.

Mid-Week Throwdown - Recipe Challenge

The Midweek Challenge on the OWH Stars and Stamps Blog this week was to use embossing, punches and ribbon. Here's my entry:

I embossed the red Bazzill cardstock with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The flower punches are from Stampin' Up. The edger punch is Binding Edge by EK Success, and the stamp is a Hero Arts clear stamp.

Fall Themed Card

The "Midweek Throwdown Challenge" on the Stars & Stamps Blog this week instructed Operation Write Home card makers to create a fall card with out using a sentiment. Here's mine....

I've made this scarecrow before, but I don't remember where I got the idea. It's been years, and I know the design wasn't mine. I think he's cute!

Midweek Throwdown - Shippers' Choice

This week's midweek throwdown on the Stars & Stamps Blog is shippers' choice, and we suggested masculine cards. Perhaps we should have called it "gender neutral" instead. Many OWH card makers have voiced their difficulties with making masculine cards. You'd never know that if you saw all the terrific Fathers' Day cards that came through this shipper's house. I saw awesome masculine cards!

I think this card is appropriate for both men and women so I'm calling it gender neutral.

Now for the "how to" for the card. I have no idea the manufacturer of the patterned paper. Any ideas? American Crafts? The dragonfly punch is McGill. The dots are from my collection of snaps that I rarely remember to use. The stamp is Hero Arts. The blue strip and black punches are Bazzill.
