Summer Card Camp, Week 3, Day 1

I cheated on this assignment. There is no green in the color combination for the week, but my card needed green. I did stick to one of the week's sketches though.

I used a technique Jennifer McGuire shared in class to make the background. It's stamped three times using three different inks.

Summer Card Camp, Week 2, Day 3

I used Julie Ebersole's card for inspiration on this one. I love her cards and videos. She has a video series called "Hello Monday" on Ellen Hutson's blog, The Classroom. Check it out.

These little birds are tiny, and there is little room for glue, especially when they're attached over a branch. To solve the problem, I cut extras, and cut away the parts that overlapped the branch and layered them.  Here's a picture of the surgery.

Summer Card Camp, Week 2, Day 2

Embossing was the technique of the day in class on Tuesday. I used clear embossing powder and VersaMark ink to add some shine to these flowers and leaves.

The flower centers were a challenge. I filled in the dots with a white Signo Uni-Ball pen. When the ink dried, I colored it with a Ranger Distress Marker to tone down the white.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts. I wish I had a dollar for every time I used this set.

Summer Card Camp, Week 2, Day 1

Week 2 of Summer Card Camp brings a new color combination and new sketches.

I used a 1/4 inch circle punch for the notches to hold the twine.

Summer Card Camp, Week 1, Day 3

I used another sketch (severely altered) for this card. Laura Bassen was a guest artist for this class, and I was inspired by her card to use patterned papers and multiple banners.

I used my Silhouette to cut 4 of the "hello" panels, and adhered them all with Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue. Good stuff.

Summer Card Camp, Week 1, Day 1

I'm trying to catch up with my homework for class! You'd think a retired teacher would do better.

For this card, I used the week's color combo and one of the sketches. I also used Kristina's trick for the strips of paper.

I've been collecting paper punches for years. They come in handy.

Summer Card Camp, Week 1, Day 4

The challenge for day 4? Make a card in less than 10 minutes. This card was stamped and assembled within the time limit, but that was AFTER the letters were cut and glued together. Ha!

My card is a CASE of guest artist Jennifer Rzasa.

I used my Silhouette to cut the letters. I cut four of each and glued them together to add some dimension.

Summer Card Camp, Week 1, Day 2

Yes, I know I'm staring with "Day 2" for Summer Card Camp, and it's already day three, but the weeds in my lawn need to be pulled. Priorities.

I was inspired by a card Jennifer posted in class using multiple inks and this week's colors. The stamp I used was a giveaway from Memory Box.
