I used Shari's design from day five of class for this card.

The pictures don't show the dimension of this card very well. I stamped the flower on acetate with StazOn jet black ink, and attached it to the back of the orange circle. The orange circle is popped up over a die cut of the same flower.

For day five of class, we learned new ways to use coordinating dies and stamps. I used Dawn's suggestion for my card.

I never get the stamp to match up with the white space. I need more practice!!!

Today in class, we were challenged to use mini dies. I used Kristina's example for my card.

My word die is significantly smaller than the one she used, so I cut mine into a smaller panel. It's raised on the card base with foam tape. I also decided to put my stars in a swoosh pattern.

Putting foam tape behind those little pieces in the word was a pain in the neck!

I used the spare parts from the first card to make the second one.

Stretch Your Stamps - Day 3

Today we used "basic shape" dies to create cards. I loved Carissa Wiley's clever design. She shared three beautiful cards.

I picked a circle as my basic shape. The outside of the card is not very exciting until you open the window.

That's not poop or watermelon seeds behind the ant, it's a stamp that's supposed to show his footsteps. ;)  It looks OK when the card front is open.

I've shamelessly CASEd a card Kristina Werner posted in class. Well, there are several differences, but the technique is the same.

I'm looking forward to spring, so I used bright green for my leaves.

Day two of class dealt with flower dies. I used Yana Smakula's example for my card.

There's a lot of dimensional adhesive behind that panel. I used Tombow's clear tabs. They're easy to hide.

Stretch Your Dies - Day 1

I'm taking the Stretch Your Dies class over at Online Card Classes. I love playing with dies, and this class looks like it's going to be a winner. For the first day, we saw several clever ways to use word dies.

This card uses a technique shown by Debby Hughes. I needed a curve for the "happy" die rather than the straight line she demonstrated. I used up a little patterned paper too. That's always a good idea!
