Stars and Stamps Challenge #15

Here's the sketch for this week over at the Stars and Stamps Blog:

And here's my interpretation:

The blue and apricot card stock is Stampin' Up, the red strip is Bazzill, the butterfly punch is Martha Stewart, and the gems, background stamp, and sentiment stamp are Hero Arts. I dry embossed the apricot paper and wet embossed (clear) the brocade blue. I popped the night of navy with dimensionals. I used some Aleene's tacky glue on one side of each of the butterflies.

I'll be making a few more of these. This color combination appeals to me, and I bought plenty of the blue and apricot at my last stamp club meeting. I think these will make terrific cards for the notes I write to my contacts for Operation Write Home. I need to solve the "bulky" problem first.

Stamp Club

I've been attending a Stamp Club once a month since last August. Sharon, our hostess and Stampin' Up demonstrator, does a great job. It's a nice group of ladies, and we always have a good time.

I thought I'd post pictures of the cards we made tonight.

Copic Markers

...and Pumpkins

I bought 3 Copic markers today.  This is significant because I swore I wouldn't cave to peer pressure.   My excuse is I bought these cute pumpkin stamps, and they really need to be colored well to look good on a card.  Well, I need to practice to get the shading right, but I don't think I will be tempted to buy many more.  Anyway, here is my first attempt.

I know, I know.  I need to trim better around the edges.  I didn't go to kindergarden so my scissor skills have never been very good!

The stamps are new from Hero Arts.  Aren't they cute?

I love fall.
