One of my new activities after retirement is keeping score for Griffin's softball team. I have never kept score for any sport, and beyond that, the only time I played softball was in gym class at school and in the cow pasture out behind the barn.
So many people said, "It's easy. You'll do fine." Not true. For someone so unfamiliar with the intricacies of the game and the terminology, this is not easy. (FC, 4U, 2-3, BB, HBP, K, 5-3, etc.) I think I did better this second game. Maybe by the end of the season, I'll be able to hold a conversation and keep the book at the same time.
Griffin won the game 16 to 0. Tuesday's game was 28 to 0. Is this a pattern?
I don't have a photo from the game, but I do have a photo to share.
My favorite niece and nephew. (My only niece and nephew.) One is a music therapist and the other is a soldier. Can you guess which is which?
God bless music therapists, soldiers, and softball players.
Dixie
I've never heard of a music therapist. Who knew middle school softball could be so complicated! Keeping score of a billiards match is way easier.
