Making masculine cards is tough. That's why I'm going to be posting some examples in the next few weeks. Actually, many of them may be considered gender neutral. Those seem to be a bit easier for me to accomplish. The card today is a masculine one. The license plate paper definitely leans in that direction
Kraft cardstock is always a good place to start. I added some patterned paper from a Tom Holtz collection and some red checked paper that I have no idea of the collection. Punch a couple of ferns and a circle, stamp a sentiment from Hero Arts, attach a ribbon, and voila'! A card suitable to be sent to a man!
The Tim Holtz paper is from his Idea-ology collection, Lost and Found. It's great vintage paper. I do love that look, but I think it's important to remember that masculine cards don't have to be dark or gloomy or vintage.
Great card, Dixie! I love the leaves on the front and that little bit of vintage paper at the bottom is just the right touch. I agree that they don't have to be dark or gloomy - I don't do dark & gloomy. Except for Halloween :-)
ReplyDeleteReally like this card! I especially like how you've cut part of the circle off. And you know I love the kraft cardstock!
