Be My Valentine Bloghop

Welcome to the next stop on the Operation Write Home Bloghop. If you missed the beginning stop, it's at the Stars and Stamps Blog.

Be sure to vote for Operation Write Home on the JoAnn's Craft for a Cause Contest. Vote every day, please! There's a link in the right sidebar.

All boxes with Christmas cards are on their way to our Heroes, and now it's time to focus on cards for Valentines Day. The deadline for Valentine cards is January 7, 2011.  To help motivate us to get these cards in early, Archway Cookies has generously consented to match us, cookies for cards! Check here for the details! We'll need to have your Valentines on or before December 1, 2010 so Archway can get the sweet treats to the troops for Christmas! Write the word, "Archway" on your packing slip. Thank you, Archway!

I started volunteering as the east coast shipper for OWH on January 1, 2010, and I got flooded with Valentines the first week! As many of you know, I'm not a fan of hearts, so I put off making this card to the very last minute! (Official time finished? 12:55 am! Time to spare!)

Many of you have asked about the proper way to tuck your cards in envelopes. Here's how! I just tuck the back of the card into the envelope.  That way, your beautiful card front is visible to our heroes, and it stays "attached" to the envelope. (Cards made from a 11 by 4.25 cut get tucked all the way into the envelope.)

Please note: we use A2 envelopes for cards that measure 5.5 by 4.25. That size card in a larger envelope means the shippers must remove the cards and place them in A2 envelopes.

See how well they all fit? That's 300 cards! I'll place some oversized cards and a bag of Hero Mail on top of these.

For those of you who made it to the end of this post, thank you! I have blog candy!! Leave a comment, and I'll choose a winner using the random integer generator after 12:00 am Monday. I love Hero Arts, so here's what one lucky crafter will receive:

Now, on to the next blog! It's shipper Kris in Kansas! She's just started her blog! Way to go, Kris! Here's the link to Kris's
