Two of my favorite card makers and bloggers, Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire, are teaching Summer Card Camp 2011. Leave it to me, the retired teacher, to wait until the last minute to get my card made and posted.
Our assignment was to make a card using all the colors pictured in the badge at the top of this post. Yikes! That's a lot of color! Anyway, I wanted to try the starburst technique, so here's my card:
I used patterned papers from Cosmo Cricket Mini Decks: UPcycle, Pixie-Licious, and Salt Air as well as DCWV's Citrus matstack. The flowers are ancient Prima flowers from my stash. The starburst technique is from Operation Write Home's Stars & Stamps Blog.

That was the perfect solution for that challenge. The card turned out great! Pat K.
ReplyDeleteYour card is great I love it!
ReplyDeleteAs long as you get the assignment done waiting until the last minute is allowed. Some of us do our best work under pressure. :) This came out great!
ReplyDeleteVery nice card! I love the look! I struggled with this color combination myself. And I am a retired teacher too that didn't turn mine in until day-just because I was stumped! lol http://visionsofpaper.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteDixie this card is fabulous for this color challenge! At first glance I swear I thought you'd used material but then realized it was the inked edges that made it look "tucked." Nicely done! Kudos to you!
ReplyDeletePS: I am also taking this class but will not be participating at the same speed as everyone else. Again, you rocked this color challenge!
Dixie, this card is beautiful! I have yet to try to make one of these. I love the color palette.
ReplyDeleteWhen you told me what this colors were I certainly didn't expect them to go together so well. This is not an ugly card, I really do like it. The sunburst is really pretty - I may have to look that up and give it a try.
ReplyDeleteYou are incredibly clever to think of using this layout to include all those great colors on a single card! It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThose are some tough colors to bring together and make an awesome card, but you certainly did it! Love all those papers.
ReplyDeleteDixie, your starburst card looks great. Love how you were able to include ALL of those many colors! Way to go!
