Since we're making Fathers' Day cards for Operation Write Home, I thought I'd include one of my dad's mini bales of cotton in the picture. That's a 5 ounce replica of a 500 pound cotton bale. He loved making them and giving them away. He ginned the cotton by hand and put it in a press he crafted. He was a clever man.

Great, masculine card! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI love how you always twist a sketch just enough to make it your very own! This card looks fantastic, and what a treasure you have that was made by your father's hands :)

Fabulous card-- love how you flipped it! And what a great memory of your father--thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Love the mini-bale too. My grandpa used to weld cotton trailers as a side job. We loved to play in them.
ReplyDeleteWhat a handsome card, Dixie, and I really enjoyed hearing about your Dad!!
ReplyDeleteDixie your card is gorgeous! I love the little bale of cotton.
ReplyDeleteDixie I love this! I wasn't too sure about what to do with the sketch this week, but I think you nailed a great solution!
ReplyDeleteExcellent rendition of the sketch. Great job on the technique from class as well. I love your photo collage with the cotton bale. But, I've got to admit, that what really caught my eye was the printer tray in the background. I recently purchased one at an antique store and have been thinking of displaying my wood stamps in it... should be interesting. Dixie, your cards are always so clean and delightful...
