This card also fits into the paper piecing challenge on the Stars and Stamps blog. Operation Write Home is celebrating National Scrapbook Day by making cards. Rebels, indeed.
This sentiment should say, "When times are tough, your sister-in-law and nephew are your umbrella." This morning I discovered the power wasn't working in the basement. Long story short, 2 chest freezers had to be removed and cleaned and lots of water from the AC had to be mopped. Many thanks to my sister-in-law and my nephew for all the help!
Here's the template I made for the raindrops. I cut it on Inkadinkado masking paper.

Love it Dixie! Sorry to hear about your basement! Thank goodness for help.
ReplyDeleteIf only this cute umbrella would have worked in your basement today :( Thank heavens for relatives that care enough to help!
ReplyDeleteThis card is just as cute as can be with that great paper-pieced umbrella! I love the raindrop template you made, and the more I see what you're doing with this silhouette, the more I might have to ask Santa to bring one to my house :) NJ!
Dixie, what a great card. Love to piecing and that is a very clever idea for the template. You are one smart cookie. So sorry about your mess. I've gone through it before I really sympathize with you. Are relatives wonderful?
ReplyDeleteYikes...sorry to hear about the mess-- but LOVE the template idea--brilliant :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a great card, especially for today! I love that you created your own template for the rain and the paper piecing is spot on. I love that paper you chose.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about your ordeal with the freezers and AC. That totally sucks.
Darling!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea, I love the raindrops behind the umbrella. I'm glad you had help with that mess, it sounds like a lot of work.
ReplyDeleteHi Dixie! Love your paper pieced umbrella and the raindrop template; how did you make that? Kudos to you for finding the mojo to make a card after your basement troubles! Hugs.
ReplyDeleteYou know, if I lived next door, I would have been there with my shop vac in a second! Dixie, I LOVE YOUR CARDS!!! I know I don't get to leave comments often enough, so that's why I shouted.
