I found this treasure yesterday at my mother's home place. The cousins had gathered there to go through the house. It's been vacant for years, and broken into several times, but there were several things left that thieves wouldn't want. Like this book.
My mother was 11 when when she wrote it. She'd drawn and erased pencil lines to get the writing straight on each page.
The story is about Jack and May and their adventures on their way to the moon.
Reading it, I was reminded of my mother's awesome spelling skills. No spelling errors! I remember once, she wrote a note to my teacher saying, "I don't know why the child can't spell."

What a magnificent find! I love that she illustrated it as well. How wonderful it didn't fall to vandalism over the years. I know you will cherish it forever.
