Anyway You Slice It (Composition and the Rule of Thirds)

A while back, I CASEd a card created by Julie Ebersole. I couldn't figure out why I didn't like my version. It's been sitting on a shelf staring at me.

Today, I remembered I hadn't been doing my homework for Operation Write Home's Design Boot Camp. Well, lo and behold, the lesson for March solved my card problem! It's all about the thirds, people!

Here's the new and improved version. I changed one of the ink colors and the sentiment. I also have a different card base. I'm much happier now.

Hero Arts - Newspaper Skyline, Tide Pool and Pale Tomato inks, pool layering paper
Savvy Stamps - Cityscape
Hero Arts/Studio Calico - Oh Snap stamp set
Memento - Pear Tart ink
Neenah - card stock

  2. As a visual learner I love that you have a before & after to share! Isn't it amazing how sometimes a small change can make a big difference in how you feel about the result? Excellent work!

  5. I had to look real close. The bottom row of stamps is stamped higher on the image. Beautiful job of stamping

  7. I thought the first one was fine, but then I saw the second one and it is a little better. I need to check out that boot camp!
