The Charlotte Observer Holiday Card Contest

It’s the 12th year for the Observer’s Holiday Card Contest! In the past, the contest has been open to children only, and I always enjoy seeing their masterpieces. This year they opened the contest to adults.

Here’s my entry. I was amazed at how different it was to design and execute a card that’s not an A2 sized card. Working with a 6x6 canvas was a challenge. I used a previous card design and made lots of changes.

For dimension, I layered three of the trees. I also used foam adhesive behind the middle layer of snow.
Impression Obsession - Bare Tree die, Birch Tree die set (cardinals), Deer dies
Hero Arts - Holiday Sayings, Tiny Flakes background stamp, embossing powder
Ranger - Shaded Lilac, Broken China, Stormy Sky inks
Simon Says Stamp - 120# base weight card stock
Stampin’Up - Baked Brown Sugar and Cherry Cobbler card stock
Neenah - Desert Storm card stock
Marvy Uchida - wavy paper crimper
