The Owl Punch

I saw the new Stampin' Up owl punch in the recently released catalog and knew I'd have to have it. Like the bird punch in last year's catalog, I figured I'd be seeing lots of Operation Write Home cards with owls. I just couldn't wait for inspiration to arrive on my doorstep so I searched on the internet for ideas, and I found Darllene DeVries's blog, Darlene Design. She has a terrific video showing how to make this card. Thank you, Darlene!! She was kind enough to let me CASE her card and share it here.

The front of the card looks relatively plain and simple. The owl seen through the hole is popped off the paper with pop dots. I added the trellis to break up the huge amount of woodgrain.

I like this card because when it's opened, you get a nice surprise! I think Darlene's design is brilliant!
