I thought I'd dust off my blog and post a few pictures of this year's Christmas cards. This first picture has most of the pieces used on the cards. These were my 2 prototypes. I went with the green rather than the white. (Except for Traci who voted for white!)
The stamps are Memory Box, and I picked them up in October or early November when I saw them at Stamper's Alley in Mooresville. They had a very similar sample card displayed, and I loved it!
For such a simple card, there are a lot of parts and steps! All the solid cardstock is from Stampin' Up. The old olive is punched with SU's Scallop Trim border punch. The bird paper is from Memory Box, and I used a 7/8" circle punch and then used chalk ink around the edges for a bit of definition. I cut the trunk off the tree stamp and used Memory Box snowflake stickers to top the tree. Rather than use dimensionals beneath the birds, I punched 7/8" brown circles and layered two beneath each bird. That makes them very sturdy and not too lumpy for mailing.
I had some "parts" left from my mad dash to get these done a couple weeks ago. I just finished making 14 more! I'll use these for my OWH contacts next year.
Great cards Dixie! I need to get back to blogging too! Let's make an effort to do that after the new year!
ReplyDeleteI recognize those cards! I love what you did with them. I hope you had a good holiday and are feeling better. All the best to you and yours in the New Year!
ReplyDeleteLove everything about this card! And it looks much better with the green. I like your alternative to dimensional adhesive! I will have to remember that trick.
ReplyDeleteI have to say that I like the white and I loved getting the white one. I hope you are feeling better.
