There was a question posed on the OWH Facebook Fan Page today about paper storage, and rather than explaining, I thought I'd share pictures.
Let me first admit, I know I have too much paper. I'm a late night crafter, and if I want a piece of tangerine paper, I want it to be close at hand! I can't go to the store at 2:00 in the morning for a piece of paper!
Here's my 12 by 12 cardstock and patterned papers. They're all in a closet where I can shut the door! The cardstock is in cubes bought on sale at Michaels. Originally, the paper was sorted by color and shade, but I've made a mess of it and need to do some work on it. Most of the patterned paper is sorted by manufacturer and the rest is sorted in a way that is only logical to me. Actually, it's not even logical to me. I like that I can pull the paper out by collection to see what's there.
Scraps are sorted in this hanging file cart with the mini-decks on the bottom shelf. I replaced the deep hanging files that came with the cart for letter size files. I keep this cart close at hand so I can grab a file quickly.
Well, I think it looks incredible!! especially compared to mine! Must work on that for the new year-but every time I go in to organize-would rather make something! Rain

I don't feel so guilty about my stash anymore - yours triples mine :) Actually, you have a great storage plan and I love that you can see everything at a glance! Great idea!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! Don't you just LOVE vertical storage. I've got a pretty similar setup for my 12 x 12. I keep my 8 1/2 x 11 in color coordinated file folders and scraps in drawers by color. Really like the rolling carts you've found to use. What a wonderful idea!

ReplyDeleteGoodness that's a whole lotta paper! I love the vertical storage bins. I sort my paper the same way and often reach into my scrap folder when making cards for OWH.
