The second class of Operation Write Home's Design Bootcamp taught us about creating a focal point on our cards. Paula's lessons are terrific, and I always learn something new.
I needed a masculine birthday card, so I incorporated some woodgrain onto the card. I wonder if I took the title of this month's class too literally? Hahaha! I got the idea for this design from Kelly Rasmussen's card sample in Studio Calico's online class, You've Got Mail.
This card fits the March Challenge for ODBD, use scallops.
My Mind's Eye - Dilly Dally 6x6 paper pad
Neenah - white card stock
Silhouette - cut files (scallop and arrows)
Hero Arts - Birthday Sayings, white embossing powder

After Paula's class I thought about using an arrow...love using your card! Fun!
ReplyDeleteI think you nailed it! I love the chalkboard effect.
ReplyDeleteSuper card Dixie and i love your use of the arrows and how they draw the eye right to the sentiment. This is a terrific masculine design too and I can envision a bunch of variations so don't be surpised if yo find me CASEing it. :)
ReplyDeleteSensational card! Love the white borders on here too.

Love how you used the arrows. I may need to borrow that idea.
ReplyDeleteThanks for supporting our heroes.
