Pattern Play, Day 2

This class is chock full of ideas! Today, Jennifer suggested we try emboss resist on pattern paper. Choosing the right paper for this technique is important. Ask me how I know.

Here's my first attempt on a text pattern. The columns are visible, and they were driving me nuts!

I used a lighter touch with a different ink on my next attempt. This paper has a larger print and NO columns.

Basic Grey - Basics Glossary
My Mind's Eye - Dilly Dally
Silhouette - "Hello" cut file
Hero Arts - Classic Fabric Design (cling background)
Stampin' Up - edge punch

  1. Dixie, These are two very nice cards and this technique is very attractive. I may just have to take this class. Thanks for the inspiration.

  4. Nicely done! I agree that it probably does take some trial and error to get the right balance between pattern and text but when you hit it just right the effect is fabulous.

  5. I love that you posted a picture of your first attempt to point out what would have never occurred to me, but would have made me crazy as well. Your second card is awesome. Another spectacular homework assignment under your belt!

  6. Brilliant! I tried this too...I wasn't thrilled with my first one and the second...#epicfail

Maybe I will post them; I do want to try again. I actually like BOTH of yours and the columns don't bother me in the least! Very pretty, Dixie.
