I used Kristina's design from class for my cards. I chose to use strips of paper rather than stamping on my cards. (I can't seem to stamp straight today!)
Here are my clean and simple cards.
My first version of these cards had wider strips of paper, and they looked "off." I remembered Paula's tips from Design Bootcamp, Composition and the Rule of Thirds. Problem solved!
My cards aren't very gender specific, but that's OK with me.
Hero Arts - Everyday Sayings
My Minds Eye - Sunshine 6x6 paper pad (his card)
American Crafts - Soho Garden 6x6 paper pad (her card)
Memento - Rich Cocoa ink and pen
Stampin' Up - Old Olive ink, pen, card stock
Neenah - card stock: white, cream

Store bought Sympathy cards can make you sad just looking at them. These are nice. I love that you tied everything together with the dashed line. Very pleasing to the eye.
ReplyDeleteThose are very nice Dixie. I am wishing I had taken this class too. Too bad KWerner couldn't patent the "dash line"... it's her signature "thing".
ReplyDeleteThis is a great CAS design. and lends itself beautifully to Sympathy cards. The faux stitched border is a nice finishing touch too.
ReplyDeleteI love these CAS designs...how perfect for sympathy cards...love the colours you chose too !
ReplyDeletePretty!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing what you are learning in class.
