Sending Lots of Love

I caved and purchased the Simon Says Stamp monthly card kit. They always provide terrific examples of cards, and I enjoy seeing what card makers do with the kits. The July box contains 6x6 patterned papers, a clear stamp set, card stock, a stamp pad, wahsi tape, embellishments, and an inspiration sheet. I thought the kit would be helpful when I hit a creative slump.

Overall, I think the kit is a good value. The materials included are high quality and can be mixed and matched. I like that!

I ordered my kit in mid June, a week before the kits were to ship. It arrived July 7th. An inquiry with SSS customer service concerning the delay was answered quickly and revealed the kits were very popular, and they needed to restock. Unfortunately, not all the original papers advertised for the kit were included. Rather than sheets of Pink Paislee’s 6x6 paper, I got what appears to be a quarter of a 12x12 sheet for several of the papers. (I have the 12x12 paper pad from this collection, so I recognized them.) Some of the patterns are big, and they’re difficult to use on cards. I was also disappointed the red stars advertised were replaced with another red embellishment. I wanted those stars!!

This card was inspired by one of the examples in the kit. The patterned paper not part of the kit.

I popped the sentiment and the middle envelope with road tape for a little dimension.
